“Do you know how to bring rain?”, asked a traveler who has just arrived in Amsterdam.
“What?”, replied his Dutch host in surprise.
“Many ancient cultures have mythologies about people who can make it rain at will by practising a certain set of rituals.”
“Oh really. It seems subconsciously Dutch people are the masters at it. It rains almost every two days here. (It is) almost impossible to do a 3 day tour of the city without seeing rain.”
“Yeah, that is indeed a wet and windy welcome for me. Let’s hope for some sun soon.”
“Everyone hopes for sun here. Welcome to the Netherlands.”
